Nelx, the provider of the Nelx DeFi Wallet (a non-custodial decentralized finance wallet available as a Chrome Extension, Web App, iOS App, Android App, and other platforms), respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.

The Nelx DeFi Wallet is non-custodial. This means you, and only you, have full control over your private keys, seed phrase (Secret Recovery Phrase), and funds. We do not have access to your private keys or seed phrase, and we do not store them on our servers.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Nelx DeFi Wallet across all supported platforms (collectively, the "Wallet"). It describes the limited information we process when you use the Wallet and how we handle it. We prioritize minimal data collection, local storage on your device, and user-configurable privacy settings—in line with best practices from leading non-custodial wallets like MetaMask.

Our Commitment to Privacy

  • We collect and process only the minimal information necessary to provide core wallet functionality.

  • Sensitive data (seed phrase, private keys, passwords) is generated, encrypted, and stored exclusively on your device.

  • We never sell your personal information.

  • On-chain transactions are public by design—anyone can view them on the blockchain explorer.

  • We encourage advanced users to configure custom RPC endpoints or run their own nodes for maximum privacy.

Information We Do Not Collect or Store

We do not collect, store, or have access to:

  • Your Secret Recovery Phrase (seed phrase)

  • Private keys

  • Wallet passwords or biometric data (handled solely by your device/OS)

  • Personal identifiers (name, email, KYC data) unless voluntarily provided for optional support

  • IP addresses associated with your wallet addresses or transactions

  • Browsing history or general app activity outside of wallet functions

Information Processed Locally on Your Device

The Wallet processes and stores the following data only on your device:

  • Public wallet addresses

  • Transaction history, balances, token lists, and NFTs (cached for UI display)

  • dApp connection permissions and site origins

  • User preferences, settings, and custom configurations

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.

Information Used for Core Functionality

To enable features like viewing balances, signing transactions, and interacting with dApps:

  • Public addresses and transaction data are sent directly to third-party blockchain RPC providers (e.g., default options like Ankr or Alchemy, or any custom endpoint you configure).

  • Metadata queries (e.g., token prices) may be sent to public APIs (e.g., CoinGecko).

These requests may expose your IP address to the chosen providers, but we do not intercept, log, or associate this information. For enhanced privacy, switch to a custom RPC or self-hosted node in settings—this routes requests without involving our infrastructure.

Optional Analytics and Telemetry

  • Analytics are opt-in only and fully anonymized.

  • They consist of high-level, non-sensitive events (e.g., feature usage, crash reports) to help improve the Wallet.

  • No analytics include wallet addresses, transaction data, or identifiers.

  • You can toggle this off at any time in Settings > Privacy.

Platform-Specific Details

  • Browser Extension & Web: Permissions are limited to enabling dApp connections and security features. No unrelated data collection. Compliant with Chrome Web Store and browser policies.

  • iOS & Android Apps: Use secure device storage (Keychain/Keystore). Permissions are minimal and compliant with App Store and Google Play guidelines.

We share information only as necessary:

  • With third-party RPC and API providers for functionality (no personal data shared by us).

  • For legal compliance if required by law.

We do not share data for marketing, advertising, or with unrelated parties.
